The Open Library of Humanities is formally governed by its charitable trustees. Guidance on project direction and admission of new journals is determined by the academic advisory board and by the library board – membership of which is granted when libraries join our Library Partnership Subsidy funding scheme.

The OLH began in January 2013 as a series of independent committees whose recommendations shaped the development of our publishing and unique funding models prior to launching in September 2015. These committees continue to advise the OLH on a range of matters:
