Poster Series

As part of our academic advocacy efforts, the OLH is producing a series of posters highlighting different aspects of our publishing for various humanities scholarly communities. Designed by acclaimed publishing graphic designer, Becky Chilcott, the series celebrates the launch of the Open Library of Humanities. We will be releasing posters throughout 2016 and 2017, each of which is dedicated to a different historical period and style which pays tribute to the range of humanities scholarship that the OLH publishes in its journals.

Please feel free to download and share these posters!

Our first in the series, The Victorian Poster, was launched shortly after the anniversary publication of our journal 19: Interdisciplinary Studies in the Long Nineteenth Century. Celebrating its 10th year, the bumper anniversary issue of 19 titled "The Nineteenth-Century Digital Archive" featured 18 articles as well as two editorials, that examine the possibilities of the nineteenth-century archive in the digital era.

Following on from our highly popular Victorian Poster, the second poster in our series – The Constructivist Poster – is a fitting tribute to the grassroots support from academics, librarians and publishers that have made the OLH possible.

The third poster in our series  – The Muybridge Poster –  showcases the OLH's commitment to supporting the publication of audio visual content including video essays, film clips, and music clips and other audio files. In Autumn 2016 the OLH welcomed its first video essay journal onto the platform, The Journal of Embodied Research, which responds to a pressing need among scholars and practitioners for a prestigious journal that brings together scholarship and videography.

The fourth poster in our series  – The Shakespearean Poster  – was designed in tribute to the historical scholarship that we publish, including our Renaissance studies journal, Marvell Studies, the official journal of the Andrew W. Marvell scholarly society.
